The Highway 111 Improvements Project was a street widening program from Madison Street to Rubidoux Street (approximately 8,800 lineal feet) that included survey and design for widening the existing street section from 2-lanes in each direction to 3-lanes in each direction. Altum prepared a Caltrans Preliminary Environmental Study (PES) Form and a subsequent IS/MND for the project. Following completion of the environmental documentation, Altum was transitioned preparing the project PS&Es and survey base mapping, utility location, and potholing.

Altum prepared a specific plan/master plan, IS/MND, water supply/verification assessment, master tentative tract map, regional and on-site drainage studies, a CLOMR and LOMR for FEMA approval, a water quality management plan, and a large lot final map.

Rancho Mirage Community Park, Rancho Mirage, CA

The Altum Group provided civil engineering, land surveying, and environmental planning services for the redesign of the Whitewater/Rancho Mirage Community Park in Rancho Mirage. The expansion of the park included a 25,000 square foot amphitheater for special events, a new playground area and pickleball courts. The park is also home to a historical building named Casa Chiquita, the oldest home in Rancho Mirage. Altum completed the project base map, water, sewer and street improvement plans as well as engineered drawings for the site design.

Altum provided Plans, Specifications, and Estimate for the Riverside County Transportation Department and Riverside County Economic Development Agency on the Mecca Street Rehabilitation Project. This project consisted of the survey of four phases of full-scale street improvement design for approximately 7 miles of streets within the community of Mecca. Altum provided undergrounding/relocation of utilities, addition of sidewalks, right of way acquisitions, parkway landscaping and park design, drainage solutions, and coordination with the Union Pacific Railroad.

The Altum Group provided planning (Design Guidelines) and environmental (CEQA documentation) services for a proposed industrial complex in the City of Coachella. The design guidelines defined the Theme & Character of the development so that the architectural character was consistent with all elements of the project and that there was a high degree of amenity in the materials used.

The Altum Group has worked with the City of Rialto to prepare CEQA documentation for several park development projects. Joe Sampson park was a proposed 7.46-acre neighborhood park located at the northeast corner of Cactus Avenue and Randall Avenue. Frisbie Park is an existing 28-acre park requiring ADA improvements and general expansion. Each project involved preparation of an IS/MND and associated technical studies.

The Altum Group provided planning, environmental, engineering and survey services for the repowering of an existing wind farm located in the San Gorgonio Pass in Palm Springs. The project proposed decommissioning a number of older, outdated wind turbines with newer high-efficiency turbines. Altum prepare an IS/MND, preliminary and final grading plans, Notice of Intent for the State Water Resources Control Board and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), Fugitive Dust Control Plan, and conducted construction surveying.

The Altum Group prepared a Preliminary Environmental Study (PES) for Proposed Interconnected Traffic Signal improvements on three corridors in the Coachella Valley: Highway 111, Ramon Road, and Washington Street. Improvements include installation of new fiber optic cable, various ITS technology at individual traffic signals, cabinet upgrades, Changeable Message boards in high traffic areas, and Traffic Management Centers at each agency to provide data collection and ability to control changing traffic conditions. The project is anticipated to improve traffic conditions within these prominent corridors and improve roadway safety for vehicles and pedestrians alike.

The Altum Group staff provided engineering, planning, environmental, and land surveying services for the entitlement and preliminary design of this 456-acre project. Final design services were also provided for the first phase which included the clubhouse and golf course. Altum staff prepared all of the entitlement and planning documents and applications, engineering plans for the golf course and related facilities, and the engineering plans for Varner Road and all of the off-site utilities. Staff also coordinated all of the wet and dry utility improvements and relocations.

The Altum Group prepared a program-level EIR for the Desert Land Ventures Specific Plan, which included a proposed General Plan Amendment, Zoning Map Amendment and Vesting Map for the proposed 123.4-acre project site located north of Interstate 10 (I-10) in the City of Desert Hot Springs. The overall purpose and intent of the DLVSP was to provide the land use and regulatory framework to allow for the systematic development of the project site from vacant land into a master-planned industrial and technology business park with freeway-oriented commercial and hospitality uses.

This redevelopment project is 11.32 acres consisting of construction of twenty-six new apartments, rehabilitation of seventy-two apartments, construction of proposed common area buildings and a completely renovated site (parking, lighting, landscape, drainage, etc.).

The facility was the first solar development in the historically wind-turbine dotted area. Altum prepared entitlement documents, including an IS/MND, preliminary and final grading plans, SWPPP, Fugitive Dust Control Plan, and provided construction survey and SWPPP monitoring.
